Good Morning. I have a Helo Pikkutonttu sauna heater with a Helo Digi 1 sauna control. I purchased the sauna electric heater with the home I bought. The heater takes about 3 - 4 hours to heat up to 140 degrees and it keeps shutting off during this time. I moved the temp sensor further down on the heater and it now seems to stay on however it still stops every hour. Would you suggest a way to make this sensor stay on past the one hour and if not, would you consider my Helo Digi 1 control as trade in for a new Helo Digi II at discount?

You don't need to change the control unit or move the temperature sensor to a different place. Put it back, where it was. It seems that the problem is in the wrong use of the heater. As you know this is very special heater with the unique heating system and allows you to take the sauna anytime you want just by opening the top cover. What you need to do is, first of all to open the top cover and then switch it on. Then it will heat up the sauna in 45 - 60 minutes.

After that you take your sauna, you drop the water on the stones and when it gets very hot, you just close the top cover of the heater and continue using the sauna. When you finish using the sauna, just turn off the heater. The Helo Pikkutonttu electric heater has a special thermos heating system. When the heater is turned on and the cover is closed it saves all the heat inside the heater. When you open the cover, all the heat goes inside the sauna.

All the electric sauna heaters have a safety catch, which dose not allow them to heat up more then 105 C. It is made in security reasons, not to burn off the sauna. After the temperature in the sauna is getting higher then 150 C degree, the heater turns off automatically. That's why probably your heater is switching off. Because the cover of the heater is closed and the temperature inside the heater is getting to high, because you are not letting it to come out.
